Thomas' debut collaboration with Daniel Clifton was durin Marked Territory at Henry Street Settlement's Abrons Atrs Center. Thomas primarily works on the creation and development of original works of art and performance at home and abroad. He is a founding member and serves on the board of Salem Art Works, a not for profit committed to providing a supportive environment for artistic development in rural New York. Other New York company credits include works with The Civilians,Human Future Dance Corps, Trajal Harrel Dance Style and Sens Productions. Thomas is a recipient of a 2007 Bessie Design Award for his work with Choreographer DD Dorvillier and Composer Zeena Parkins.
